An official has urged the youth in Lakes State to join accelerated learning programs to conclude their primary studies.
The Director General of Alternative Education Kuol Atem Bol told Good News Radio over the phone from Wulu County that Accelerated Learning Centres represented a second chance for dropouts or children who could not go to school to get an education and develop the country.He explained that accelerated learning enabled the youth to complete primary studies within four years instead of involving themselves in fights over girls or cows.
Mr Atem said he came from Juba with a team to oversee accelerated learning centres in Lakes State.
He added that the accelerated learning program represented a second chance for those who did not complete primary school to finish in four years a program that takes eight years to complete.
Mr Atem said the accelerated learning programme has 2,600 centres across South Sudan.
