Eastern Equatoria state ministry of education is investigating a primary school administration for misappropriation of examination fees.
Education minister Michael Lopuke Lotyam told Radio Emmanuel that one school did not remit to the ministry the money pupils paid to sit for the Primary Leaving Exam.He refused to name the school to protect the investigations.
Minister Lopuke said each student paid 60 pounds to contribute to the exam papers and their transport, support the supervisors and invigilators and for food for the candidates.
The minister said the school administration was liable for the missing funds.
He added that the candidates were allowed to continue with their examinations.
Over 2,000 Primary Eight candidates started their final examinations on Monday in Eastern Equatoria.
