Boma executive chiefs from Morobo and Lainya counties in Central Equatoria started a six-day joint training in Yei on Monday.

Central Equatoria Local Government Minister Alfred Pitia Redentore said the executive chiefs are learning about Land, Local Government and Child Acts and Women’s Rights, Radio Easter reported.

He added that head and paramount chiefs were already trained.

Mr Pitia said the training will be extended to all boma chiefs in Central Equatoria.

He explained that executive chiefs formed the backbone of all the levels of Government because they were the direct link to the grassroots.

The Minister added that USAID and the state government funded the workshop.
