The South Sudan Human Rights Society for Advocacy has called upon the office of the President to extend the mandate of the National Constitutional Review Commission.

The Society also called for an amendment to the Transitional Constitution of South Sudan 2011 by at least inserting a provision in Article 202 extending the Commission’s mandate for one additional year to November 2013.

It called upon the international community to assist the commission both technically and financially in drafting a pro-people’s Constitution to set South Sudan into the right path.

The Society urged the South Sudanese people to be vigilant and give their views on the contents of the supreme law for their governance.
