The national Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment on Tuesday launched the Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF) to boost the trade sector in South Sudan.

Garang Diing Akwong told the press in Juba that the purpose of launching this program is to fund trade in the least developed countries in the world.

He said there are 48 countries including South Sudan that are members of the enhanced integrated framework being supported by various donors.

Mr Diing added that other components of the program include building of structures and capacities of the line ministries.

He said the launch of EIF will help South Sudan to study trade once again.

Simon Hess, Coordinator for Enhanced Integrated Framework at World Trade Organization said the framework in South Sudan is looking at three key areas.

He explained that the areas include mainstreaming trade, building of capacities and institution, influence and coordinate additional resources for development.
