YAU YAU REBELLION UNDER CONTROL

Pibor County Commissioner said the Yau Yau rebellion was under control and the displaced were returning to their places.

Joshua Konyi told CRN over the phone from Pibor that the army imposed order in Likuangole, Gumuruk and Kondako and people started returning to their villages.

Commissioner Konyi said humanitarian groups started distributing food supplied by the UN to some 5,600 people displaced by the rebellion.

He said the Yau Yau rebels were looting civilians and taking cows and cloths.

The Commissioner accused the rebels of raping women.

Commissioner Konyi said the army was able to end the Yau Yau rebellion in Pibor.

He accused Sudan of supplying weapons to the rebels.
