South Sudan and Sudan Joint Political Security Mechanism agreed to make operational the cooperation agreement signed last September between the two countries in the shortest time possible.
The Joint Mechanism is the body tasked to oversee the implementation of the cooperation agreement.South Sudan Defence minister John Kong told the press in Juba on Wednesday that members of the joint mechanism led by their ministers of defence agreed to implement the cooperation agreement signed on September 27 between the two countries.
He did not elaborate on the timeline for the execution of the agreement.
Mr Kong explained that the demilitarized border corridor and the non aggression pact were discussed during the meeting.
Mr Kong said other issues were left for future meetings.
