Fish vendors are resisting to move from Jigomoni to the newly opened Lutaya Market in Yei.

A Ugandan national who wanted to keep his identity told Radio Easter that most customers know only Jigomoni as the place to buy wholesale fish.

The source said fishmongers were ready to move to Lutaya but the market does not have a source of water and shades for them and their customers.

He called on the concerned authorities to put conditions at Lutaya market right.

Every Thursday wholesale vendors transport fish from Uganda to Jigmoni Market.

On Wednesday, Yei Payam Administrator Alfati Morgan issued a local order banning the sale of fish in Jigomoni Market.
