Central Equatoria Council of Ministers agreed to follow up the issue of returnees stuck in Renk, Upper Nile state.
Government spokesperson Francis Barson Yuwasa said his government was concerned about the deteriorating conditions of returnees stranded in Renk, Bakhita Radio reported.He added that the state ministers for information and social welfare will go to Renk to assess the situation of returnees in order to propose an emergency response plan.
The ministers should meet the head of the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission and the minister for humanitarian affairs to discuss ways to transport the returnees from Renk to Juba.
Many returnees are still stuck in Renk since they were moved from Kosti in White Nile state, Sudan.
Another 3,000 southerners are stranded in Kosti, Sudan.
