The Speaker of Eastern Equatoria Parliament expressed concern over the House’s low performance during its second session.

Ambrose Emmanuel Ocholimoi said the Assembly passed only two bills during a three-month session.

He urged MPs to write more Bills, reports and move motions during the coming third session.

Speaker Ocholimoi raised the concern during an interview with Radio Emmanuel after the closure of the second session on Monday.

He point out that some heads of specialized committees did not table a single motion during the session.

In his speech to the Members of the Assembly, Speaker Ocholimoi said the performance of the assembly was discouraging.

He wondered whether some of the chairpersons were incompetent and needed to be replaced.

Eastern Equatoria Assembly started a 45-days recess on Monday after deliberating and passing two bills, four urgent matters, one report, one policy statement and confirming some appointments.

The Assembly seats November 15 for the third session.
