The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North is appealing to the United Nations and to the international community to protect the civilians in Sudan from the ongoing ethnic cleansing.
People in the Nuba Mountains and Blue Nile states have been affected by a conflict between the rebels and government forces since June 2011 in Nuba Mountains and September 2011 in Blue Nile.Heiban County Deputy Executive Director Walid Ibrahim Karim said the fighting in the two states displaced thousands.
He accused the Government of Khartoum to bomb both areas while peace negotiations are taking place.
Mr Ibrahim said Khartoum is using food and bullets to cleanse South Kordofan and Blue Nile.
The official predicted that if the UN fails to deliver aid to the needy in both states, suffering and death will increase in the region.
