STATE PROMISES MODERN CAMPUSES FOR PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES

The National Minister for Higher Education said plans to build world class campuses for public universities in South Sudan are already at an advanced stage.

Peter Adwok Nyaba told Bakhita Radio that new campus for Juba University will be built in its original location in Billinyang, across the river.

He added that Upper Nile, Bahr El Ghazal and Rumbek universities and Dr John Garang University for Sciences and Technology will also have modern campuses.

Mr Adwok explained that the modern campuses paid with public money will be ready by 2017.

The minister hinted that all private universities will remain closed till they meet requirements including facilities, lecturers and libraries.

The ministry of Higher Education shut down more than 20 private universities in South Sudan because they were operating under law standards.
