The two-day meeting schedule for Monday and Tuesday in Juba between the Speaker of the National Assembly and Central Equatoria leaders and intellectuals has been postponed due to poor attendance.
Speaker James Wani Igga called the meeting to discuss national issues with the leadership of the state but he rang the organizers half an hour after the appointed time to call it off.Central Equatoria Information Minister Francis Barson told CRN that the two-day meeting was pushed forward due to poor attendance.
The speaker wanted wider coverage and many people to attend.
Mr Barson explained that he spoke on radio and on TV but many people were unable to get to the venue of the meeting.
He added that the state government will use the media to ensure that the public is aware about the meeting.
Mr Barson said the meeting between Speaker Igga and the leaders in Central Equatoria may take place nest week.
