CIVIL SOCIETY ALLIANCE CALLS FOR VIGILANCE ON GOOD GOVERNANCE

Western Bahr El Ghazal Civil Society Alliance selected good governance as one of its priorities in the state.

More than 75 participants from deferent organizations gathered Tuesday morning in Wau to attend a lecture on vigilance and good governance, Voice of Hope reported.

Alliance state coordinator Rabah Elis Bandas said during the opening remarks all civil society members should be aware of good governance principles.

Ms Elis singled out the great role civil societies played during the referendum rising awareness at the grassroots.

She noted that civil society activists should also promote good governance.

Speaking on behalf of the local government, Wau County Executive Director Pasquale Ulau appreciated the initiative of the Alliance to make people aware of good governance principles and challenges.

He urged the participant to inform the local community about good governance.

Women and youth groups, faith based organizations, and people with disabilities form Western Bahr El Ghazal Civil Society Alliance to support activities in the state in collaboration with international organizations and the Government.
