The Human Rights Organization (HRO) in the Nuba Mountains said that it is working with the local authorities and leaders to free children accused and imprisoned for theft.
HRO team leader Rashid Adam Anur said two children accused of stealing were already released in Heiban County.He said his organization is working hard to make people respect human rights including children in prison.
Mr Adam said the HRO team is working with chiefs and other authorities in order to take children out of jail.
He said problems caused by children should be sorted out among families.
Mr Adam appealed to all the human rights groups working in different locations of Nuba Mountains region to stamp out child abuse.
