The government spokesperson said ministers, their deputies and undersecretaries will continue to use very expensive Toyota V8s despite austerity measures.
Ê
Barnaba Marial Benjamin said in 2005 the government decided to buy Toyota V8s that cost over 150 thousands dollars each because there were no good or tarmac roads even in Juba.
Ê
He said having V8s is cost effective because they can withstand rough roads.
Dr Marial added that when South Sudan has all roads asphalted V8s will disappear and only rich people like farmers will be driving them.
