A cleric has urged citizens of South Sudan to embrace agriculture rather than relying on food handouts.

The Secretary-General of Yei Catholic Diocese, Emmanuel Sebit, said the time has come for the people of South Sudan to go back to cultivation now that they have settled.

Fr Sebit, who is the director of Radio Easter, thanked a delegation from the Embassy of Netherlands and the implementer’s Century Seeds Company.

He appealed for the provision of tractors and other machines for commercial cultivation in South Sudan.
