A group of investors on Saturday visited Nagero County, in Western Equatoria, to assess bee production in the county.

Kinyetti Company plans to establish a factory for processing and packaging of various products related to honey in Nagero, Anisa FM reported.

Nagero representative at the National Legislative Assembly, Pascal Bandindi, led the team in the visit to the county.

He told a crowd of beehive owners to work hard in farming and in bee production to feed the honey factory.

Nagero press secretary Justin Gunde reported that the team was impressed with the high turn up of local beehive owners and the potential to produce enough honey to run the factory.

Kinyeti Investment Officer, Richard Kigozi, expressed his commitment to establish a honey factory in Nagero County.

He said the company plans to improve traditional beehives by giving loans to local producers.

Mr Kigozi added that producers will learn new harvesting techniques to avoid killing bees by using smoke instead of fire.

He said the project targets 500 producers in the county, who will receive training in modern skills of bee farming.

The inauguration of Kinyetti honey factory in Nagero will create new jobs in the area.
