The minister for information and broadcasting in Central Equatoria State has urged journalists to follow the professional code of conduct while performing their roles as information disseminators.

Francis Barson was in Yei to participate in a media forum workshop at the end of a training on computer skills for journalists.

Mr Barson told the participants that people thirst for daily true information about what is going on around them and they know journalists are the best source, Radio Easter reported.

He said journalists are to link the Government and the citizens.

Mr Barson called on the media personnel to be professional, use attractive language to satisfy the public and work as a team to promote development in the country.

Judith Isa, working for Liberty FM, was one of the participants in the training. She said she learned much during the media forum including some tips how to approach public people like ministers.

The media forum workshop under the theme “The media’s role in civic life” was funded by the Free Voice-Africa and attracted participants from Greater Equatoria.
