MINISTRY OF FINANCE LAUNCHES NEW DEAL FOR G7+ COUNTRIES

The national finance ministry today launched a workshop on a new deal for the G7+ to meet challenges in the country.

Deputy Minister Mary Jervas Yak told Bakhita Radio that the main purpose of the workshop is to engaged the stakeholders in the New Deal.

She said the New Deal is an agreement between the G7+ countries, donors and international partners.

She added the G7+ is a group of fragile countries emerging from conflict that need huge assistance.

Ms Jervas said the group of the G7+ proposed a new deal to donors to shape the state on issues of security, justice, political dialogue, economic foundation and services.

The New Deal proposes key peace building and state building goals.

It focuses on new ways of engaging and indentifies commitments to built mutual trust and achieve better results in fragile states.
