Inflation rates registered a small fall in South Sudan during the month of July as food, medicines and transports’ prices came down.
The National Bureau of Statistics said inflation reduced 2.2 percent between June and July.The annual inflation rate fell from 74.1 percent in June to 60.9 percent in July.
By cities, annual inflation in July reached 113.3 percent in Malakal, 56.8 percent in Wau and 48.2 percent in Juba.
According to the Consumer Price Index for July food and non-alcoholic beverages are 2.9 percent cheaper, medicines went down 16.4 percent and transport fares are 23 percent lower.
The index reveals that the prices of cereals, bread and vegetables went down in July.
