The African Union High Implementation Panel for Sudan has promised to immediately take steps to establish the truth on the alleged attacks by Sudan Armed Forces on South Sudan territory.
This followed a complaint from the South Sudan Chief Negotiator Pagan Amum on Friday that the Sudan Armed Forces attacked SPLA units in Northern Bahr El Ghazal.The Panel reminded the parties of their commitment to end all hostilities and solve all the outstanding issues through peaceful means.
The parties confirmed their determination to honour the commitments and agreed to continue their negotiations without interruption.
Earlier, Sudanese Defence Minister, Gen Abdelrahim Hussein made a verbal presentation, and denied that the SAF had attacked SPLA positions.
He stated that the SAF had attacked a column of the Darfur JEM rebels, within the territory of Sudan
