SOUTH SUDAN INTRODUCES COMPULSORY NATIONAL SERVICE

Higher Education Minister said the government has set to introduce compulsory national service for students who completed secondary schools certificate to join universities.

Peter Adwok Nyaba said the students who sat for Sudan School Certificate have to spend two years doing national services before joining universities.

He said many of the students who are joining the universities are still young and they need to be oriented to develop patriotism.

Prof Adwok said the national services is going to be introduced as one way of solving the problem of the students since the intake of 2010 and 2011 are not yet out.

He said the students have to wait until necessary academic infrastructures are built.

Dr Adwok said admission results for the last three years are still with Khartoum because the money is not yet paid.
