JUBA AND KHARTOUM REACH A DEAL ON AIR SPACE CONTROL

An official from the National Transport Ministry said they have reached a preliminary joint agreement with the government in Khartoum over air space control.

The Undersecretary at the Roads and TransportÊ Ministry, David Martin Hassan told Journalists at Juba International Airport upon arrival from Nairobi that the two parties have reached an understanding on two issues, Bakhita radio reported.

He said the first issue how South Sudan air space should be control base on the international civil aviation convention and international civil aviation organization.

Mr Martin added that the second agreement reached was the joint proposed agreement that delegates more power to Juba International Airport to have control over its air spaces.

The undersecretary said the meeting came as a result of continuous consultation between the ministry and the international civil aviation organization on how South Sudan should have controlÊ its airspace.

The meeting between Juba and KhartoumÊ in Nairobi was to discuss technical issues.
