South Sudan refugees are again taking the road to Kenya’s Kakuma refugee camp due to the border war with the Sudan.

UNHCR spokesman Emmanuel Nyabera said South Sudanese have been arriving at a rate of 150 to 200 people per day at the Kakuma Refugee Camp in northern Kenya.

He said resources and sanitation services are stretched to their limit.

Turkana West district chief Patrick Muriira said the numbers of refugees are increasing every day, so there is need for another site.

He added that Kenya’s government needs to find a solution fast to avoid conflict between the host community and the refugees.

Mr Muriira said the camps use resources of the host community, including ground water.

Kakuma camp was established in 1992 for Sudanese refugees.
