The Catholic University of South Sudan on Saturday will graduate the first batch of students who initiated the university in 2008.
25 students began the four-year journey in the College of Economics and Business Administration.Vice Chancellor Michael Schultheis told Bakhita Radio that the graduates will receive their degrees from the Catholic University of Eastern African (CUEA) in October because that is where the Catholic University of South Sudan is affiliated.
He said CUEA representatives will attend Saturday’s graduation ceremony in Juba.
Fr Michael said the occasion will begin with a prayer service at Saint Joseph’s parish followed by a procession and the graduation ceremony.
He added that Church and Government representatives mainly from Central Equatoria state and national Higher Education Ministry will attend the graduation.
The Catholic University of South Sudan has its main Campus for Arts and Social Sciences in Juba and a branch for Agriculture and environmental studies in Wau.
It plans to open a Civil and Petroleum Engineering College in Malakal.
