Comboni Missionaries working among pastoralists in South Sudan started today in Juba a four-day workshop to review their work and come with some new insights and guidelines for their work of evangelization.
Fr Markus K√Ö¬°rber is the secretary for evangelization in the South Sudan Province of the Comboni Missionaries.
He told CRN that the 18 missionaries taking part in the workshop, including a Comboni Sister, will share their ways of evangelization to come with new insights for their pastoral work.
The Combonis are present among the Mundari, Dinka and Nuer communities in seven different places.
Fr Markus said the participants should prepare some guidelines to have a more effective way of evangelization among the pastoralist communities.
Dutch pastoral worker, Hans Stoks, who lived for a long time among the Maasai in Kenya and Tanzania, facilitates the workshop.
Two prominent figures, one Dinka and one Nuer, will present their cultures to the participants.
Fr Markus said the Comboni Missionaries will organize a follow-up workshop involving their personnel working among pastoralists in South Sudan, Kenya, Uganda and Ethiopia.
