BISHOP OF TORIT MOURNS VICTIMS OF LOA ROAD ACCIDENT

The Catholic Bishop of Torit has conveyed condolences to the bereaved family of the five members of who died in road accident at Loa trading centre along Nimule-Juba road on Friday.

Former staff of the Catholic Diocese of Torit Silver Alau was among the dead, Radio Emmanuel reported.

Bishop Johnson Akio praised Mr Alau as an active member of the Christian community in Loa who contributed much to the progress of the Church.

The accident involved a tipper lorry taking mourners for a funeral and a bus from Uganda with a Kenyan number plate.

The bus rammed onto the side of the lorry parked at the side of the road, killing three people on the spot.

Another two died one on the way and the other in Nimule Hospital.
