The Commissioner of Yei River County has decried the dangerous state of Yei Civil Hospital’s surgery section.
Elia Waiwai said the Yei Hospital Surgery Ward was no fit for human beings, Radio Easter reported.He added that the place was dirty and it has open spaces allowing dust and infections to come in and kill patients.
Mr Waiwai said the conditions at Yei’s Civil Hospital surgery theatre were worse than a slaughter house.
He appealed to the ministry of health to look into the problem so that patients are operated in a clean place to avoid unwanted deaths.
The Commissioner made these remarks during the funeral rite of Chief Nemaya Guya on Saturday.
