More than 600 people gathered this morning in Yei Freedom Square to celebrate the Women’s international day.
MP Jennifer Yobu from the state Legislative assembly said it was time for women to empower themselves by uniting in groups.She added that the women should not wait for the government to empower them since they are many more than men in the South Sudan.
Ms Yobu appealed to the women in Yei River County to gather in associations for NGOs and government agencies to support them.
Kosmas Lokiko, the guest of honour at the occasion, praised Yei River County Women Association that worked hard for the success of the celebration.
