Peace facilitators working for JRS, the Jesuit Refugee Service, in Nimule received nine bicycles to improve their movements and ensure a broader coverage of their activities.

JRS Team Leader for Nimule Payam Azo Mark said the bicycles will go a long way in boosting their work as peace-builders in the community.

Limio Margaret, who received one bicycles, added that the peace facilitators were truly thankful to JRS for the gift.

She explained that the nine bicycles will act as extra motivation to the facilitators to work harder on peace-building efforts in the three payams of Nimule, Mugali and Pageri.

Nimule is a fast-growing border town and is home to various different communities, including the Madi, the Acholi and the Dinka.

Cattle rustling and tribal land clashes are common flashpoints between these groups, and conflicts resulting in death and injury are regularly reported.
