Communities in Heiban County, Nuba Mountains, are being asked to stop giving water to cattle in the boreholes.
A member of Heiban community, Jofar H., said people should not water animals in the boreholes because if they break them nobody can repair them particularly at this difficult moment.He added that cattle keepers sometimes fight with the women at the boreholes and that was not acceptable.
Mr. Jofar said the women should also pump water in a way that does not spoil the boreholes.
Watering of livestock in the boreholes has been a source of troubles in many areas and communities are advised to dig wells for their animals and leave the hand pump water for human life.
