A Fire Brigade officer killed one civilian and injured another four after locals complained that the fire-fighters were late to put out a fire that reduced to ashes about ten houses in the outskirts of Juba.

One witness told CRN at Juba Teaching Hospital that the fire broke out in Lologo in the early afternoon and burned some nine or ten houses.

He said when the Fire Brigade elements arrived at the scene the fire was already extinguished.

Some citizens showed discontent because the fire-fighters took too long to arrive and started shouting at them to go back to their barracks.

One member of the Fire Brigade shot at the protesting crowed and killed a girl with a bullet in the head.

Another four people were wounded and taken to Juba Teaching Hospital.

The witness said the officer who shot at the crowd was arrested.
