Scores of citizens today have taken to the streets of Juba dressed in white and chanting no to violence, no to tribalism, no to war as they commemorated CPA Day.
Concerned Citizen X South Sudan organized the rally though the streets of Juba attended especially by young people.Graphic designer Zar Garang told CRN News that the march was intended to condemn the ongoing inter-tribal violence in Jonglei after South Sudan achieved peace and independence.
He said the march was to remind the elders about peace in the country.
Ms Nyannuer said she is sick and tired of fighting in Jonglei State on what it meant to be a peaceful country.
She said she hoped that people would stop fighting one another.
Maal Maker Thiong said the people are tired of the small conflicts that kill thousands of civilians across South Sudan.
He said South Sudan needs peace, understanding and unity among its peoples to make the country a better place.
Mr Maker wants youths to raise awareness among their piers in the villages to stop killing and encourage dialogue instead.
He added people should not live as IDPs in their own country like it happened in Pibor.
Lual Manyang said he was marching because there is an urgent need to stop violence and tribalism.
He said he wanted unity among the people of South Sudan and people need to put an end to tribal issues.
Mr Manyang added that South Sudan needs roads to approach people.
Emmanual Kembe said the march was a stand against tribalism, injustice and the continuous violence in South Sudan.
He said it is a historic day in South Sudan and he prayed that there should be no war the whole country again.
The march was organized by Concerned Citizen X South Sudan, a voluntary group formed one week ago prompted by the latest spat of violence in Pibor County that left more than 2,000 civilians dead.
