The President of the Republic called on South Sudanese to remain united and keep the peace in the country while facing the challenges of building the nation.

Salva Kiir Mayardit was in Yei over the weekend to take part in Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe’s silver jubilee celebration.

He told the congregation that the people of South Sudan should keep united in all situations.

President Kiir said Sudan armed forces are trying to drag South Sudan back to war by attacking the oil rich states of Upper Nile and Unity but the SPLA forces are controlling the situation.

He added that Sudan wants to go back to war in order to avoid negotiating the borders and other post-independent issues.

The President said the government of Khartoum is using some parties to destabilize South Sudan.

He added that Sudan was supporting and organizing the rebellion started by Peter Abudullaraham Sule, the former UDF leader.

President Kiir urged people to keep the peace in the country.
