Over 200 women from different churches converged to Yei Youth Centre for a three-day training towards self-sufficiency and nation building.

Dorothy Isaku, a missionary working with Calvary Ministry, told Radio Easter this morning that the training under the theme “The woman as a home and nation builder” is intended to equip and empower the participants with skills to help themselves.

Edina Sadiya John, a women leader attending the training, said all the women in South Sudan and Sudan should use their skills to raise their children and assist the husbands in family running activities.

Another two participants, Bako Christine, who comes from Uganda, and Amina Lona said the training will help them improve their lives.

The explained they learned how to manage time, resources and personal talents together with some practical skills including cream oil making and some principles of Christian living.

The training that started yesterday drew participants from many churches and was organized by members from the African Inland and Catholic churches.
