The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Torit urged Christians in the diocese to remember the people killed during the war on All Souls Day.

Bishop Johnson Akio Mutek said as Christians are remembering the dead in the world and in the society, they should also pray for the faithful departed in South Sudan and Sudan as well as those killed recently in the new nation, plus others whose death has not been recounted.

He stressed that the Church is to preach forgiveness, reconcile people and get to some root causes, and let Christians pray for the situation in the diocese and state.

Bishop Akio prayed for an end to unnecessary deaths among families, society, community and in the country.

He emphasized that Christ has destroyed death as such; death should not be entertained in the communities.
