A group of German investors is exploring ways to strengthen the existing trade relations with South Sudan.

German Ambassador to South Sudan Peter Felten told the participants at a two-day meeting between local and German investors that South Sudan is ready to welcome foreign businesses in a number of areas.

He said the time was right for new business relations and investment opportunities.

Commerce, Industry and Investment Deputy Minister Kengen Jakor said there are many opportunities for investment in South Sudan.

He singled out agriculture, infrastructure, energy and mining as sectors investors could select for their investments.

Mr. Jakor added that solar energy and minerals are vast areas that need investment.
