The Catholic Bishops of Sudan and South Sudan will visit tomorrow the site of Busere Seminary, near Wau, the cradle of vocations in the old Sudan.

The Sudan Catholic Bishops’ Conference (SCBC) started its ten-day plenary assembly in Wau on Wednesday, the first meeting of its kind after the independence of South Sudan.

The crucial plenary assembly kicked off with the blessing of Wau’s Catholic Health Teaching Institute that started forming registered nurses over one year ago.

The institute was established and is run by Solidarity with South Sudan.

Yesterday and today, the 40 participants, including archbishops, bishops and heads of diocese in the two Sudanese countries, commission members and partners held three open sessions, and one closed session, daily.

The assembly is tackling many critical issues for the churches in the two countries after the independence of South Sudan.

On Sunday, the bishops will bless Voice of Hope FM, the latest SCRN station on air.

Voice of Hope started broadcasting on October 8 in Wau and completes the network, bringing to nine the number of diocesan stations under the SCRN umbrella.
