St. Daniel Comboni inspires missionaries to carry out their ministry with audacity and creativity.
Fr. Fernando Colombo, Diocesan Administrator of Rumbek Catholic Diocese, told Good News Radio that the missionary life of St. Comboni was characterized by courage, creativity and perseverance in hard times.Fr. Colombo said the Diocese of Rumbek requires the same creativity in evangelization, explaining that whereas other regions of South Sudan have been evangelized over 100 years ago, most people in Greater Bahr el Ghazal have not been reached by the Good News of the Jesus Christ.
He challenged the missionaries in the region to devise new ways of reaching out to the local communities with the message of the Gospel.
Fr. Colombo cited the example of late Bishop Caesar Mazzolari who carried out his ministry with audacity, saying that the late bishop greatly contributed in the planting of the seeds of the kingdom of God among the people.
Fr. Colombo said missionary audacity that includes creativity and courage in evangelizations the best way to honour St. Comboni and late Bishop Mazzolari.
