Students from Juba’s Comboni Secondary School gathered this morning at St. Theresa’s Cathedral in Kator to celebrate Comboni Day.

Fr. Joaquim Valente, a Comboni Missionary who works at the historic archives of the congregation in Rome, presided over the Eucharist.

He told Bakhita Radio that his main message to the students was to work hard because they are the future of new nation.

Fr. Valente said all ages have a role to play in their country.

He called on the students to remain committed to serve South Sudan.

Daniel Oriam, who is a Comboni student, said the celebration brings together students, parents, teachers and friends.

In the afternoon the students at Comboni Secondary put together a cultural programme to mark Comboni Day in style.
