The Catholic Church of Juba is opening a new parish in Lobonok, bringing to 12 the number of parishes in the archdiocese.

Fr. Samuel Abe, acting Secretary General of the Archdiocese of Juba, told Bakhita Radio this morning that the inauguration would take place on the feast of Saint Mathew the Apostle, September 21, the patron saint of the new parish.

He invited the faithful to take part the inauguration presided by Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro.

Fr. Abe said the people of Lobonok and its intellectuals in Juba are making intensive preparations for the feast at various levels.

Fr. Charles Tombe, former parish priest of Saint Kizito in Munuki-Juba, is the first parish priest of Saint Mathew parish in Lobonok.

Fr. Abe concluded that the opening of Lobonok parish adds more value and strength to the Catholic Church in Juba.

Lobonok was a chapel of All Saints Parish, in Rejaf.
