School inspectors from all the eight counties of Lakes State are being trained to improve quality of data collection about school in the state.
The Director of Quality Promotion in the Ministry of Education, Makoi Majok Toch, explained to Good News Radio that the training targeted the inspectors from the counties of the State in order to develop a better way of managing schools beginning with quality data collection.He added that the inspectors gather information about the performance of head teachers and teachers, the role played by the members of staff, the distribution of school material and the provision of services – or lack of it – in the schools.
Mr. Majok said the inspectors have also to report about the challenges faced by the schools and the presences of students and teachers.
The director urged the inspectors to aim at quality performance to be an effective bridge between the government authorities and the schools.
The training attended by 28 inspectors is sponsored by Unicef.
