Yei County authorities held a meeting with payam representatives yesterday to budget for the celebration of the Independence Day on July 9.
County High Technical Committee Deputy Chairperson Edimon Gogo said the meeting aimed at preparing the budget again since some payams programmed their celebration beyond the money they were getting from the state, Easter Radio reported. He told the representatives of the five payams to budget the independence celebration between ten and 12 thousand Sudanese pounds.
Mr. Gogo added that he did not know the exact amount the state was sending to the county for celebrations at payam level.
He said his office will call one male and female observer from each payam to witness the amount of the money each receives when the cash arrives from Juba.
Thirty seven people attended the fifth meeting called by the Yei River County to prepare the independence celebrations.
