Upper Nile state is expecting the arrival of a medical team from IGAD countries to work at Malakal Teaching Hospital.
State health minister Stephen Lor Nyak said Upper Nile state will be preparing for the medics’ accommodation, Voice of Love FM reported.He added that the IGAD medical team will contribute to improve and reform health services in the state.
Mr. Nyak said that the medical professionals are coming to work in Malakal.
He assured that his ministry is working tirelessly so that no citizens will need to go to another state looking for medical treatment.
The minister made these statements during the handing over of three ambulances.
The ceremony was attended by number of officials including the acting governor.
IGAD (Intergovernmental Authority for Development) groups Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somaloa, Sudan and Uganda to focus on drought control and development initiatives since 1996.
