The South Sudan Catholic Bishops called for prayers and action ahead of South Sudan’s independence.

Speaking to Bakhita Radio, Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro of Juba said the launch of the program is a call to welcome the birth of a new nation in a spirit of unity among the people of south Sudan.

Archbishop Lukudu revealed that the SCBC called on South Sudan to be nation of every tribe, tongue and people.

He added that a new nation should emerge with new spirit and opportunity for most disadvantaged.

The prelate invited the laity to participate in the events, adding that the program would be used as basis for preparation and celebrations in various dioceses of Sudan with local adaptation.

The program will be launched tomorrow in Juba with a procession with the Blessed Sacrament from Saint Joseph’s Parish to Saint Theresa’s Cathedral Kator.

Local choirs, women and seminarians would animate the procession.
