GoSS ministry of healthhas dismissed media reports about an outbreak of Ebola virus in South Sudan.

The Kenya Broadcasting Corporation and Sudan Tribune website reported that tight border controls have been put in place in Kenya following an Ebola outbreak in Uganda and Sudan.

Director of communicable diseases in GoSS ministry of health John Lagu told SCR News that the hemorrhagic fever caused by the rare and deadly Ebola virus has not been apparently recorded in South Sudan.

Some media reports indicated that a nurse in Sudan treated a man suspected of carrying the virus’ Sudanese strain.
