The SPLM dismissed allegations it was behind the big fire that destroyed a mosque in Kadguli, the capital of South Kordoran.

Voice of Peace Radio reported that Kadugli’s big mosque was torched on Tuesday night.

SPLM official Richard Karchum told the press yesterday that the NCP accused the SPLM of burning the mosque.

He dismissed the accusations as baseless.

The official said the SPLM built the temple and could not have burned it down.

In another development, Mr. Karchum said the SPLM presented at he called the correct South Kordofan election results to European Union, African Union, CPA witnesses and international NGOs.

He said Abdul Aziz al Hilu and the SPLM won the elections and the NCP wants to drag South Kordofan to war.

The National Elections Commission announced on Sunday that the NCP won both the governorship and a majority in the state legislature.

Ahmed Haroun received almost 201,500 votes and Abdul Aziz al Hilu 195,000 votes. The NCP won 33 seats in the South Kordofan legislature to SPLM’s 22 seats.
