GoSS minister of Information said the Juba Post was confiscated last week because it was wrong.

Addressing the press this morning, Barnaba Marial Benjamin said the paper published an article that was agitating for war.

The Juba Post published a statement from George Athor’s spokesman saying the renegade commander would attack Juba before the independence.

Mr. Barnaba said that the press should enjoy freedom of expression in a responsible and ethical manner.

The minister of Legal Affairs John Luk Jok added that any journalist that violates the law will be prosecuted while the media should enjoy its freedom in the circles of the Constitution.

More than 5000 copies of The Juba Post news aper were confiscated last week by South Sudan security officials on allegations that the article about George Athor’s plan to attack Juba should not have been published.
