Eastern Equatoria security forces have arrested a gang of robbers that had been terrorizing people travelling in the state roads.

Governor Louis Lobong Lojore told the press on Monday that the government has established seven police posts to ensure safety and security of travellers and their property against criminal elements in the state, Emmanuel Radio reported.

Mr. Lobong stresses that the road attacks that intensified this month in the Torit-Juba road at Idolu, in Kidepo valley, and along the Hatire road were isolated cases that the government to handled at once.

He said his team held a meeting with Buya Community to resolve the issue of road armed attacks.

Mr. Lobong added that the criminals were identified and arrested to face the force of law.

The governor said cases of highway insecurity were isolated incidents by deranged people that can happen anywhere in the world, including America and even in Juba.

Mr. Lobong added that this should not scare investors away from the state as the security forces were capable of containing the incidents.

The governor did not mention the number nor disclosed the identities of arrested the suspects but Emmanuel Radio established from reliable sources that three suspects were apprehended over the Idolu incident where a man and a woman were murdered in cold blood.
